It's a misconception that WordPress websites are slow. WordPress is fast at its core, but the themes and plugins you use ain't optimized for speed, making your website slow. Here is a thread to help 🧵
Theme:
Choosing a theme is the most challenging part of your website; most themes are features focused and not speed, which makes them take more time to load, try these
1. GeneratePress Premium (for block builders)
2. Hello Theme (if you are using Elementor)
Website Builder:
Block builders are the easiest way to build your website as they are very lightweight compared to Elementor., based on how good your are using them, choose one of these
1. Generate Blocks
2. Kadence Block
3. Elementor, if you need a drop-and-drop option
Plugins:
You will need some essential plugins to run your WordPress website smoothly and securely, though I'm a firm believer that these things are essential, and any hosting provider should provide you a platform built in with basic infrastructure.
1. @_perfmatters (this is my favorite one, you can get an instant speed boost by just installing it)
2. @FlyingPress_ (for the cache as well as they provide CDN at minimal cost), It’s better than WP Rocket as I have seen a difference with wp rocket installed),
3.SVG support (if you have lots of SVG files
4. Fluent Forms
5. SEOPress (if you are looking for features, else Simple SEO should do the job, avoid any heavy plugin for SEO like Yoast or RankMath
